The operating system vulnerability was rectified by Apple through updates released in August.

WhatsApp has reportedly informed individuals who may have been targeted by these attacks within the last 90 days. The notification suggests that a malicious message may have been used to compromise devices by exploiting vulnerabilities in both WhatsApp and the operating system.

WhatsApp advised affected users to perform a factory reset on their devices and ensure they have the latest operating system versions installed.
