While the feature remains in beta, it is currently available in English for Premium users in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden.

The process is managed through conversational prompts. Users can access the tool by selecting "Create" in the Spotify app and choosing the "Prompted Playlist" option. From there, the AI processes the request, a step that can take several minutes as it analyzes genres, themes, and even "verifies humor" for comedic requests.

One notable capability of the tool is its ability to refine results through follow-up prompts. For example, because podcasts are often serialized, a general prompt might yield random middle episodes. However, users can instruct the AI to "only include the first episodes of campaigns" or "focus on hidden gems," allowing for a more logical listening experience.

Each episode included in a Prompted Playlist comes with a brief, AI-generated description explaining why it matches the user’s specific request. Early testing suggests these summaries are largely accurate, pinpointing the tone and stakes of various series without misleading the listener.
